Super Lawyers Honors Attorney Chirafisi

Attorney Corey Chirafisi was recently recognized by Super Lawyers as one of a small number of criminal defense lawyers in the state of Wisconsin considered to be among the very top (top 2.5%) of all lawyers. Super Lawyers explains their selection process on their website; in general, they assess an attorney's past court record, public record, ethics record and local and national opinion before selecting people to be considered for the Super Lawyers honor. After the pool is formed, they conduct numerous other investigations and rank all lawyers in the pool accordingly. From those rankings, the top 2.5% are selected. Corey was among those in the top 2.5%.

Wisconsin Drunk Driving & Criminal Defense Lawyer

Admitted to practice law in Wisconsin since 1998, Attorney Corey Chirafisi returned to Wisconsin after attending law school in New York City (C.U.N.Y. 1998) and began working as an Assistant District Attorney.

During his time as a prosecutor, Corey handled criminal matters ranging from disorderly conduct to homicide. He served as both lead prosecuting attorney and co-counsel in cases which have changed the shape of areas of criminal law in this state (State v. Stuart).

Since moving to Madison, Wisconsin, Attorney Chirafisi has exclusively devoted his law practice to defending people under investigation for a crime, accused of a crime or drunk driving, or charged with a misdemeanor or felony criminal offense or OWI.

In 2006, Attorney Corey Chirafisi was one of a handful of Wisconsin lawyers to present a special seminar to the entire Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers members entitled Jury Selection and Defense of Sexual Assault Cases, a criminal defense area in which Attorney Chirafisi has handled many cases.

In 2007, Attorney Corey Chirafisi was nominated as a Rising Star to Super Lawyers, a national affiliations run by Law & Politics, which seeks out exceptional lawyers and conducts research into their past trial records, ethics and law practice before naming them to the top 2.5% of all attorneys as a Rising Star.
